Cooperative Housing Corporation (CHC) was founded in order to provide affordable, quality housing and services to low/moderate income senior citizens and some special needs populations. Through a unique model of shared living, Cooperative Housing is able to offer a cost-effective housing alternative. There has always been a great need for this type of housing, due to the high cost of living and lack of alternative resources for these groups.
CHC builds and manages its own houses. This allows us to construct in the most efficient manner and style possible, emphasizing single-level ranch homes that are handicap accessible and senior-friendly. Cooperative Housing currently owns and operates seven houses in Somerset County, NJ, with additional units soon to be constructed. Expansion into neighboring counties is also on the horizon.
Cooperative Housing is supported by federal funds, State of New Jersey grants, County grants, Township funds and land, private grants, fundraising initiatives, and private donations – we are always looking for Angels!
